Effectively Coordinating a Team

Since 2015, Rebekah Luellen has served as the project manager for Martin Construction and Restoration in Tennessee. In this capacity, she supported the launch of the organization and two new business enterprises under its umbrella. Rebekah Luellen is also responsible for coordinating all processes, projects, and people for the construction company. Good team coordination is essential for promoting hard work and keeping people motivated. Here are several things that foster good coordination:

Create well-defined roles: On a team, you don’t want different members competing or putting one another down. Avoid this issue by giving each team member a specific role. Clarify their personal objective and illustrate how each individual helps move the team closer to a group goal.

Foster communication: Whether you are coordinating with international teams or just working with a smaller group each day, the value of clear communication is high. Effective communication ensures you clearly define the objective and address any potential issues as they arise. It also involves creating an environment where your team is comfortable going to you with any issues or problems they have.

Know the big picture: Before you can effectively plan your team’s operations, you must be familiar with the team’s overall goal. Understanding where you are going ensures you correctly communicate the objective with your team. It also helps with finding the specific roles you need filled in order to accomplish your team objective.
